About us

Terai Indigenous Peoples (TIP-MGDRC) was born from the proven success of Spiral Farm House, a pioneering farm founded 12 years ago by Sudarshan Chaudhary, a member of Nepal’s Tharu Indigenous community. With just €16,000 in startup investment, Sudarshan developed a high-yield, fully pesticide-free farm using biodynamic and biointensive methods inspired by Jean-Martin Fortier’s model in Quebec. Spiral Farm House has demonstrated that it is possible to combine modern agricultural tools with Indigenous knowledge to build a profitable, scalable, and sustainable farm enterprise.
This success sparked a broader vision: to replicate this model across Nepal and beyond, empowering Indigenous farmers to create self-sufficient farm businesses that restore ecosystems and secure food sovereignty. Backed by an international board and a growing network of global contributors, TIP-MGDRC channels international funding into scalable farm incubation—targeting €16,000 per farm to establish hundreds of thriving, sustainable agricultural enterprises led by Indigenous communities.
Our action
We Partner With Funders to Scale Indigenous Farming Networks
We seek long-term collaborations with international donors and grantmakers to expand regenerative agriculture in Nepal, led by Indigenous communities.
How we work
Rooted in regenerative agriculture
Led by Indigenous communities, TIP blends ancestral farming wisdom with modern regenerative techniques to build a sustainable agricultural future in Nepal.
A 2 years investment program
We don’t just teach regenerative agriculture—we work alongside farmers every day for two years, ensuring they build profitable, self-sustaining farms
A scalable, bankable program
Our approach is designed for long-term success, scaling from 15-30 farms in 2025 to 200 per year by 2026-2027, creating stable incomes and restoring ecosystems.
We channel international fundings, train and implement a large network of indigenous farmers in the Terai, Nepal
We are not just training farmers—we are actively building a network of self-sufficient regenerative farms. Through our intensive, two-year mentorship approach, we provide:
- Hands-on guidance to apply regenerative techniques on field in real time for each farm.
- Seeds, equipment, and infrastructure to eliminate financial risk.
- Market integration and financial tools for long-term viability.
This initiative is designed for scalability, with a goal of 15-30 farms in 2025, expanding to 200 per year by 2026-2027, covering 200 hectares annually.
